Happy Weekend! Sunday is the first day of spring, and this warm-weather girl is here for it! I’m so ready for dresses, sandals, and poolside fun!

Last week I took to my Instastory and told you you could ask me anything! I got some great questions, and today I thought it would be fun to answer your questions today! The questions are in italics, and my answers are below them. Of course, since it’s the weekend, I’m also going to fill you in on what we’re up to and share the best weekend sales with you. So let’s do this, my friends!

Answering Your Questions

What is the difference between a Creator and an Influencer? I’ve heard both used! So what’s the proper thing to call you?

I love this question because I never know what to say when people ask me what I do! It’s confusing. 😕

There is a difference, but it’s kind of a nuance! For an influencer, their business is about helping people make decisions about the things in their life, whether that is products in general, or specifically fashion, beauty, fitness, home, or the choices they’re making with vacations, restaurants, etc. The term Creator is broader. It’s really just somebody creating content on the internet, be it a dance on TikTok, comedy sketches on YouTube, artwork on Instagram, or other types of content. Basically, all Influencers are Creators, but a Creator is not always an Influencer!

What are you loving about being your age and this moment in life?

Well, being empty nest blessed, of course! I love that it’s back to just Bob and me in the nest, and I love the freedom that brings. I absolutely love seeing my kids grow into the people that God called them to be. It’s so much fun to see them blossom and know them on a friend level.

There are so many skin treatments these days (laser, Botox, filler, peels, topicals…). Which one do you think is most effective for women over 50?

Honestly, I think the most important thing a woman can do is use a good Retinol! I use the 2-Step Advanced Retinol System from City Beauty. Step 1 contains a Vitamin C serum that brightens, firms, and supports the skin barrier preparing it for Retinol. Step 2 delivers concentrated Retinol into the skin, reducing wrinkles & fine lines, dark spots, and sagging! Unfortunately, it’s been out of stock for a long time, but they just restocked! To learn more about it and get an exclusive 45% off, click HERE and use the promo code GLOW45.

Beyond that, I would talk to your dermatologist! I’ve tried both Botox (read the post HERE) and Dermal Fillers (read the post HERE), and I like both. There are also other, simpler things you can do like a lash lift (read the post HERE) to open up your eyes and brow microblading (which I recently did) to add youthfulness and fullness in the brow area. (Post on that coming in a month or so after I have my second session!)

What is your favorite place you’ve traveled?

The Riviera on an Oceania Cruise. (Read the post HERE.) But of course, Sanibel Island will always be first in my heart! (Read my Sanibel Travel Guide HERE.)

How to conceal under-eye bags? (Mine are terrible!)

First, I would use an under-eye patch to treat the area. (I’ve used THIS one, and I like it.) Put them in the fridge for 15 minutes before you put them on to instantly cool and de-puff. Next, use an eye cream you like. (THIS is the brand I use.) Then follow with a concealer that is a little lighter than your normal shade. (I like THIS drugstore brand. It’s the best-selling concealer in America!) Finally, finish off by using your regular foundation all over your face, blending up into your undereye area. At the very end, I like to gently blot my undereye area with one of THESE blotting papers (I buy them in bulk and then cut them into fourths before using.) so that my mascara won’t smudge.

How to keep going on your blog or Instagram when you aren’t seeing the growth you’d like to see? (This question is obviously from another influencer!)

I would say that as an Influencer, you need to focus on your mission and purpose. If your purpose is just growth or making money, you’re chasing something empty. Why are you doing what you’re doing? Are you creating content that is helpful and meaningful? Keep the focus on serving others and being a blessing to them, and the growth will come organically.

Describe your personality. How has it changed over the years?

Not a whole lot! I’m still an encourager, an intentional go-getter, and I am not afraid to make fun of myself! I do think some of my sharper edges have softened. I’m not quite as bossy as I used to be (my family might disagree!), I’m slower to speak, quicker to listen, and more thoughtful with my words.

How long have you and Bob been married, and what are your marriage “secrets?”

We’ve been married 35 years. My parents would tell you that our “secret” is that Bob is a saint! (When I do something crazy, my parents still shake their heads and say, “We warned you, Bob!”) Bob and I laugh at ourselves and don’t take ourselves too seriously. When one of us says or does something hurtful to the other, we make an effort to think the best of each other and not the worst. We share everything, good or bad, and we’ve focused on learning and growing in areas that are important to the other. For example, I might ask Bob to explain how a particular play works in basketball, and he might ask me to help him with something techy on his phone. Also, we say thank you to each other a lot and genuinely compliment each other.

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

I try not to focus on the things that annoy me, but rather, set my mind on better and more lovely things than that! However, I am weirdly sensitive about how people spell my name! It’s Suzy, not Suzie, Susie, Susy, Suzi, or Susi. My real name is Suzanne, and I am not Susan or Sue!

Fun facts: My husband calls me Suzy Lou (my middle name is Louise), and my dad calls me Wizzlelou. My boys call me Mom, and Becca calls me Momma. 🧡

  1. I am also Suzanne who goes by Suzy. I joke that I know who pays attention by how my name is spelled on cards and things. 🙂 I have been reading your blog for several years- thanks!

  2. Suzy!!!!

What fun to know you! Isn’t it funny who pays attention and who doesn’t? It really means a lot when someone focuses on it and gets it right! Thank you for reading ENB, my friend!
