From Tips to Toes| Customized DIY Manis & Pedis I Can’t Stop Raving About
What if you could find customized DIY manis & pedis made specifically for your nails, that you could apply in minutes, with no salon visit, no mess, no chemicals, and no smell? What if the manicure lasted for 10-14 days, with no chipping? Then, what if I told you that when it was time to remove it, your manicure would peel right off, with no damage to your nails?
It’s real! You’re welcome!
BTW, this is not a sponsored post.
I am not kidding you when I say that finding this nail system has, without a doubt, been my greatest discovery of 2020! If you’ve been hanging around here for a while, you know that’s saying a lot—because I’m always discovering new things to share with you!
I’ve been sitting on this one for months now because I wanted to make sure it was as incredible as I thought. Oh, it was. And it is. You’re not going to believe it.
Customized Manis & Pedis: Meet ManiMe
I first discovered ManiMe when I was watching another influencer’s Instastory. It sounded too good to be true! So, being me ????, I went straight to the company’s website, read and watched everything, and promptly wrote them an email! I told them that I thought my followers would love the idea of this pandemic-perfect nail system, and boldly asked them if they would be willing to offer a discount code that I could pass along to you! (Spoiler alert: it’s at the end of this post!)
ManiMe is the first company ever to make 3D modeled, stick-on gel manicures. Their non-toxic manicures are custom fit and ready to apply anytime, anywhere. Say goodbye to immobilizing your hands in chemicals and UV-rays for two hours in a salon! Say goodbye to shared tools and drills that damage your nails as they remove your remove gel manicures.
ManiMe’s manicures are made from Korean gel that is 10-free. That means the gels are created without 10 of the most common chemicals found in most nail polishes: Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, Ethyl Tosylamide, Xylene, parabens, animal by-products, and fragrance. They are also Leaping Bunny Certified, meaning they are sustainable, cruelty-free, and not tested on animals. You can learn more about the company HERE.
The generous people at ManiMe gifted me several manis and threw in a few additional products for me to sample as well. I went through the 3-D fitting process, just like all customers, and even had to have the fit of my manis adjusted by their Care Team a couple of times. I cannot say enough about their customer service, and their 100% Happiness guarantee. They are truly an outstanding company.
I love that my manis (and pedis) are easy to travel with, can be applied anywhere in minutes, and that they are custom-made and 3-D modeled specifically for my nails. Thanks to this unique nail system, my nails are healthier, thicker, and longer than they’ve ever been because they’re not exposed to the destructive and damaging chemicals of a typical manicure. I’m not overstating when I say that they’ve changed my approach to nail care, freed up my time, and definitely saved me money!
ManiMe Customized Manis & Pedis: How It Works
After setting up an account on the ManiMe website, the first thing you do is 3D scan your nails. You do this by taking five pictures of your nails with your phone. Don’t worry! ManiMe guides you through this from start to finish! Watch THIS video for more information.
Next, you select your manicure. ManiMe has everything from neutrals and fun colors to artistic designs and patterns. My favorite shade is Venus Shell, which is what I’m wearing in this post.
Within 2-4 business days, your manis arrive in the mail. You even get an email from ManiMe telling you to check your mailbox on the day they arrive!
ManiMe Customized Manis & Pedis: What You Get
1. Prep Pad
In order for your gel manis to adhere well, your nails have to be free of oils.
2. Your Custom Gel Manis
Each ManiMe set comes with 15 manis — five for your right hand, five for your left hand, and five extra “backup” gels. I love knowing there is a backup just in case I royally mess up when applying. (That happened a few times at first, but rarely happens now!)
3. Nail File
Your gel manis will be slightly longer than your nails. You use the nail file to remove the excess. If your nails are on the shorter side, ManiMe suggests using nail clippers to trim any excess length. More on that below.
4. Optional Add-Ons
Called “Essentials” on the ManiMe website, these items are not truly “essential” to make your manis work well. That said, some of them are definitely helpful!
- Miracle Base Coat – This base coat helps strengthen nails that have been damaged by gel or acrylic product removal. It also primes your nails for your mani application. I used this product for the first couple of months to help my nails heal from the damage caused by traditional dip manicures.
- Max Top Coat – This top coat only takes 30-seconds to dry! It seals your manicure for maximum durability. I use it with every manicure, carefully sealing the tips and side edges of the stick-on gels. About 7 days in, I gently file down and smooth the tips and side edges of my mani and use the top coat again. I’ve found that this prolongs the life of my manis.
- Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer – This hand sanitizer contains 70% Ethyl Alcohol with Aloe Vera for moisturizing. I haven’t tried this.
- Magic Cuticle Pen – I really like this essential oil-infused cuticle pen! It’s the first of its kind to be sold in the United States! It has a firm edge for pushing back your cuticles, a ceramic tip for gentle buffing, and essential oils for hydration. I use it to prep my nails before every manicure.
- Mighty Hand Cream – This rich moisturizing cream is made with all-natural ingredients, including citrus, chamomile, and lavender. I haven’t tried this.
ManiMe Customized Manis & Pedis: How to Apply
The first time you apply, it will take a while to get the hang of it. But you’ll get faster each time! Now I can apply my manis in about 10 minutes!
1. Clean Your Nails with the Prep Pad
2. Peel Your Manis Off the Sheet and Carefully Adhere to Nails
Apply the mani from cuticle to tip. Smooth the gels down with slight pressure when applying. Fold the excess over the tip.
3. File or Clip the Excess From the Tips
If your nails are short (as in, they don’t protrude past your fingertips), use a clipper to trim the excess. If your nails are longer, use the nail file. Be sure to file straight down, not at an angle.
4. Finish Off With Max Top Coat
Pay special attention to the tip of the nail with the top coat as you polish. As I said, I “wrap” the polish over the tip to improve the longevity of my mani.
For more information on how to apply, watch THIS video.
5. Mani Removal
When you’re ready to remove, simply peel off from side to side. I usually soak my fingertips in warm water and then apply lotion along the edges for the most gentle removal. BTW, the Max Top Coat will not affect removal.

Hi Suzy!
I love this idea! I was literally just looking at my fingernails and bemoaning the fact that it rarely pays off for me to polish them because within just a day or two the polish begins to chip off simply due to ordinary daily activities. It would be great to have a manicure that actually looked good and lasted!.Curious … have you tried the pedi version?
Lauren,
Yes! I have them on my toes right now! They’re just as awesome! I’m so glad you liked the post! I can’t say enough good things about ManiMe!
