When it comes to lightweight, easy-to-wear spring & summer dresses, Target is our favorite spot to shop! Not only are their styles on point with the trends, but they’re also affordable! We’re breaking down the dress trends of the moment, and showing you how Target dresses are right on the edge of those trends. Right now, dresses are starting at just $10!

1. Fitted Bodice + Flowy Bottom

As seen with the explosion of the “Nap Dress,” this style is the most popular dress style this year. These dresses have a more fitted bodice or are cinched or tied between the bust and the waist, then are flowy all the way down. Imagine the top of an A-line dress but with the bottom of a tiered dress.

The fit is similar to an empire waist dress, but it’s fitted to just above the hips. The best thing about this style is that it gives the illusion of smaller hips, a high waist, and long legs, making it flattering on most people!

2. Midi Dresses + Tiered Midi Dresses

The tiered midi dresses are still hot, and Target is on top of this trend with their new styles! If not tiered, some dresses have one hemline at the bottom to give it a little extra flare. These dresses are loose and flowy, making them perfect for the warm summer months ahead. In fact, most of the dresses Target has out now, whether long or short, are not tight, but give us a softer hemline. I think anyone could be comfortable wearing this style, and after a year of not seeing friends and family, a boost of confidence from these cute dresses wouldn’t hurt!

3. Sleeve Situation! Flutter Sleeves, Puff Sleeves, Ruffle Sleeves…

It looks like the sleeve trend is here to stay for awhile! I love how adding a puff or ruffle detail to a simple dress gives it a subtle feminine touch. Although since I found a few sleeveless dresses, it seems we are going “all or nothing!” If you’re a girly girl like me, look for both fun sleeves and florals for your perfect dress!

4. Bright Colors & Florals

Of course, with spring comes bright colors and pretty florals! Most florals we are seeing are small print, verses bold or big flowers. This may be the dress design for you if you tend to stick to solid colors, but want to step out of your comfort zone a little. Another good option to “test the waters” would be this ombré dress. Or, this dress with embroidered details also adds a nice touch if you would prefer to stick to a solid color.
