1. Relaxed Tailoring
Tailored pieces are softening up this season, and we’re here for it! 🙌🏻 Blazers with subtle stretch, wide-leg trousers that flow instead of cling, and button-down shirts that drape just right are all taking center stage. It’s all about balance—structure, but without stiffness.
Try this: A soft-shouldered blazer over jeans and a fitted tee is an easy win for a polished everyday look.
2. Statement Denim
Button Sleeve Stripe Crewneck Tee | Straight Ankle Cuff Jeans | Brittany Knit Sneakers | Entangled Hoop Earrings | Beaded Stretch Bracelet Set
Repeat after me, “I will not buy any more skinny jeans!” 🤣 This fall, be sure your denim gets an update with wider legs, higher waists, and fun touches like cuffed hems, contrast stitching or subtle embellishments. This isn’t about chasing trends—it’s about finding the silhouette that flatters your shape and feels fresh in your wardrobe.

Refined Denim Boot Cut Pants | Flowing Floral Tie Neck Top | Vera Patent Mary Jane Ballet Flats
You can go with anything from straight leg and boot cut, to the on-trend wide-leg. (Suzy’s Pro Tip: You may also see “Barrel Jeans” out there, but I’m still not recommending them. They add width to your silhouette, which doesn’t seem to flatter anyone.)
Try this: Wide-leg jeans with a tucked-in knit top and block heel booties. Yes, please.
3. Rich, Saturated Color

Variegated Stripe Side Tie Midi Dress | Brittany Knit Sneakers
Old habits can be hard to break, but as you’re shopping, keep telling yourself, “Take a break from black🖤, brown 🤎is back!” 😂 Earthy tones are still going strong, but Fall 2025 is bringing in even deeper, more saturated hues—think cocoa brown, eggplant, forest green, and deep rust. These shades pair beautifully with denim, neutrals, and gold-toned accessories.
Look for brown leather to edge out black leather in popularity. While black leather remains a classic, brown leather is having a major moment. Velvet is also making a strong comeback , adding texture and a touch of drama to outfits.
Try this: Swap your go-to black sweater for one in brown, plum, or burgundy—it’s just as versatile but feels fresh.
4. Modern Boho Vibes

On L: Gorgeous Garden Wide Leg Pull-On Pants | Brooklyn Wash Studio Chore Jacket | Ribbed Scoop Neck Tee | Vera Patent Mary Jane Ballet Flats
On R: Modern Poplin Puff Sleeve Shirtdress
Boho isn’t gone—it’s grown up. Look for flowy skirts, relaxed prints, and embroidered accents done in more refined silhouettes. These pieces offer personality and ease, without leaning too far into the “festival fashion” zone.
Try this: A soft print midi skirt with a waist-length sweater and tall boots is flattering, elongating, and effortless.
5. Elevated Athleisure
Coolmax® Contrast Sweater | AirKnit Stretch Cargo Joggers | Brittany Metallic Knit Lace Up Sneakers | Tortoiseshell Statement Necklace | Capped Tortoiseshell Stretch Bracelet
The comfort we all embraced is here to stay—just more polished. Fall’s version of athleisure includes luxe matching sets, tailored joggers (think cargo joggers!), and sweaters you can wear with everything. Whether you’re traveling, lounging, or just out and about, it’s style that moves with you.

AirKnit Stretch Wide Leg Pants | Luxe Jersey Pocket Tee | AirKnit Stretch Full-Zip Track Jacket | Ivory SuedeLace Sneakers
Try this: Pair knit joggers with a tucked-in blouse and structured jacket for a put-together casual look. Wear anything from booties to sneakers on your feet. You’ll still look like you, but the aesthetic will be more modern and you’ll be oh-so comfortable!
Accessory Trends to Watch
Denim Shirtdress | Painted Garden Silk Square Scarf | Elise Sunglasses | Tapered Shoulder Bag | Entangled Hoop Earrings
Accessories are doing a lot of the heavy lifting this season—and a few smart updates can give your whole wardrobe a modern twist.
👢👞Boots & Shoes
- Scrunchy, slouchy knee high or mid-calf boots (aka “pirate” or “buccaneer” boots! 🏴☠️) are in, offering a relaxed and stylish alternative to more structured styles. Pair these with flowy skirts or wide-leg jeans to balance your proportions.
- Of course, it’s fall, so you’ll see leopard print!🐆But when it comes to fall fashion trends 2025, the freshest looks are more unique animal prints, like zebra, snakeskin, and faux-croc textures—especially in knee-high or mid-shaft heights. (Suzy’s Pro Tip: These can add instant visual interest to neutrals or denim.)
- Stylish straps, buckles, harness hardware, and equestrian influences are adding edge to classic boots. Booties are still around, but most boots will be knee or mid-calf length. (Suzy’s Pro Tip: Be careful! Knee high boots are elongating, but mid-calf boots can cut you off at an awkward spot.)
- Look for short-shaft booties that are designed to tuck neatly under jeans or midi-length skirts. They’re ideal for polished and pulled-toghether everyday dressing. (Suzy’s Pro Tip: I think these work best with straight-leg or cropped denim.)
- Shop for utilitarian and combat-inspired boots. We’re still seeing lots of lug soles, lace-up fronts, but now with more refined finishes—often in neutral black or especially dark brown. These are easy to style with flowy skirts or dress trousers and can “toughen up” an otherwise too “precious” look.
👜 Handbags:
The crossbody bag is taking a backseat to the top-handle bag, which is making a stylish return. Bags are bolder, with slouchy shapes and texture playing a big role. Expect to see lots of suede, soft leather, and even quilted or woven finishes, some with fur detailing and embellishments. Hobo bags and crescent shapes are especially on trend.
🧥Coats:
We’re still seeing a lot of shearling as trims on aviator, trench, or tailored coats. Look for statement coats like faux fur (especially in vibrant colors). The revival of the well-tailored trench coat that started last year continues strong, so make sure you have a good, classic one that looks amazing on you.
👢 Belts:
Belts are more than functional this fall—they’re an intentional part of the outfit. Look for wide belts cinching blazers, long chain or rope-style belts slung low, and even silk scarves worn as belts are making statements. (See below for advice on how to wear them!)
🧣 Scarves:
Scarves are oversized and perfect for layering over blazers or sweaters. Consider wearing a scarf as a belt, either strung through belt loops with a tucked in blouse or cropped sweater, or around the waist of a dress or blazer. Look for lightweight wool or silk in rich prints.

Also be on the lookout for neckerchiefs (aka “skinny scarves“), which are typically thin and perfect for tying at the neck with a blouse or sweater or adding to an otherwise neutral handbag as a pretty embellishment. If you want to add a designer touch to your outfit, a skinny scarf can be a good way to go.
💍 Jewelry:
Minimalist gold is still strong, but mixed metals and chunky, art-inspired pieces are adding interest to clean fall outfits. Think geometric earrings, cuff bracelets, or layered necklaces with charm details. (Suzy’s Pro Tip: Layer three necklaces of different textures and weights, like THIS piece, THIS piece, and THIS piece together.)
💡 Try this: Swap your everyday bag for one in suede or quilted leather. Then layer on a scarf and a wide belt for instant outfit impact.
Final Thoughts on Fall Fashion Trends 2025
Fall 2025 is shaping up to be full of thoughtful style updates—nothing too over-the-top, just beautifully wearable trends that help us feel current, confident, and comfortable. Whether you try one trend, all five, or you just add a few choice accessories, remember: style isn’t about changing who you are—it’s about celebrating you!
Remember, it can take some time to get your eyes used to the new trends, so don’t be afraid to try things that may feel weird to you at first! (I’m right there with you!) But I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, and try some new styles! That said, in the end, wear what you feel good wearing. (Suzy’s Pro Tip: The most important thing is to feel pulled together and project confidence!) You’ve got this!
