Empty Nest Blessed by Suzy Mighell

The stores may be full of holiday merch, but here at Empty Nest Blessed, we don’t want to skip over Thanksgiving! Today, I’m sharing some fall and Thanksgiving looks I think you’ll love. I’m so grateful for each of you, and despite the pain in the world right now, I know each of you has so much to be thankful for. Gratitude is the gateway to joy; we could all use more of that!

Next week, we’ll launch the Empty Nest Blessed Holiday Gift Guides! They’ll be exclusively available for Empty Nest Blessed subscribers on Wednesday, November 1, and open for the public on Friday, November 3. If you’re not a subscriber, or if you have friends or family who aren’t (but need to be!), subscribe HERE.

This holiday season, you’ll see lots of holiday gift guides out there, but I don’t think there will be others that are customized just for empty nesters like ours! Being empty nest blessed means you may be a part of the sandwich generation—you have young adult kids; you may have senior adult parents; and, if you’re really blessed, you have grandkids as well! My gift guide will give you ideas for all of those groups and more. We have nearly 1000 gift ideas in 10 categories! It’s something we work on all year. 🎁 We can’t wait to share it with you next week!

But in the meantime, Thanksgiving! Bob and I had an opportunity to travel to Ohio last weekend, and, y’all, I could hardly breathe when I saw the fall foliage🍁🍂! It was stunning. I love the fall, and today, I’m sharing some of my favorite fall looks. So many brands are launching their holiday collections this week or next week, so now is the time to snag your Thanksgiving look!

As always, click the pink text links or any image for more information.
Everything I’m sharing fits TTS (true to size), unless I tell you differently!

For size reference, I’m 5’5″, and I typically wear an XS or XXS in tops and a size 2 in bottoms.

Brushed Floral Cashmere Sweater (¾ sleeves) | Slim Ankle Jeans (See other colors HERE.) | Suede Lug Sole Tassel Loafers (See other colors HERE.) | Mixed Links Hoop Earrings

This ⬆️ is what I’m wearing for Thanksgiving! It’s all from Talbots. It’s such a good deal right now! Take 40% off the highest regular-price item with the promo code WONDER.  Everything beyond that first 40% off item is 30% off. (Today is the last day for this deal!)

Amazon Ruffle Neck Sweater (See all 26 other colors HERE.) | Chatham Ankle Pants | Similar Caramel Brown Booties (25% off at Target!) | Mixed Links Hoop Earrings (30% off right now.)

I think this Amazon sweater is so pretty and feminine. I can’t believe it comes in 26 colors 😲! I’m wearing a size small instead of an XS, so that’s why it looks a little big on me! I’d say it fits TTS, though. My pants are Talbots Chatham Ankle Pants. They’re Talbots best-selling pants, ev-ah! 😃

Beauty And Brains Cinnamon Brown Floral Blouse (Click HERE for other colors/patterns.) | Worth It Black Skinny Jeans | Can’t Stop You Toast Brown Booties (Also in black.) | Making Moves Beige Quilted Purse | Want It All White Beaded Bracelet Set

The SOFTEST Jackie Sweater (Use code SUZY15 for 15% off.) See other colors/patterns HERE. | Similar Brown Cordury Pants or less expensive option HERE (50% off) | Mixed Links Hoop Earrings (30% off right now.)

This gorgeous, best-selling ¾-sleeve sweater is from Avara, my favorite online boutique! (You must order from my link to use the SUZY15 discount, so I couldn’t add it to the image widget.) It is absolutely the softest sweater I have ever owned! I love that it comes in several other colors and patterns as well, including some that are the same, but long sleeve (and called “Joyce Sweater” instead of “Jackie Sweater.” I just bought THIS Joyce sweater!

London Top (Use code SUZY15 for 15% off.) | Straight Leg Jeans | Similar Taupe Bootie | Tory Burch Huggie Earrings

For a feminine, designer-inspired choice for a Thanksgiving look, how about this pretty London top from Avara? (You must order from my link to use the SUZY15 discount, so I couldn’t add it to the image widget.) It doesn’t wrinkle, and I love the stand ruffle collar and subdued shoulder ruffles. I’m wearing the XS, which was short enough that I didn’t have to tuck it in (yet it didn’t show my tummy).

Juliet Kick Flare Pants | Ponte Faux Leather Pleat Sleeve Tunic | Felicia Ballet Flats | Lee Gold Drop Earrings in Black Opaque Glass

If you’re looking for a fun way to incorporate the faux leather trend + the pleat trend, look no further than this darling Ponte Faux Leather Pleat Sleeve Tunic! I paired it with another great trend—kick flare pants. Then I added another hot trend—ballet flats! Add heels or heeled booties instead of flats to take it up a notch.

Romantic History Light Taupe Brown Ruffled Blouse (Click HERE for other colors.) | Break It Down Dark Wash Flare Jeans (In petite HERE if you don’t want to wear heels.) | Can’t Stop You Toast Brown Booties (Also in black.) | Making Moves Beige Quilted Purse | All About It Red Floral Earrings

I love the juxtaposition of this romantic ruffle neck blouse with the dark wash high waist flares! (Just FYI, the flares are sold in junior’s sizing. To find your size, go up one digit. I am a 2 in women’s, so I ordered a 3.) They’re long, so you’ll want to pair them with heels like I did, or order them in petite HERE to wear with flats.

Shaker Stitch Tweed Pullover (Also in Rich Burgundy HERE.) | Stretch Corduroy Straight Leg Pants | Machine Washable Allbirds Wool Sneakers | Tory Burch Huggie Earrings

This chunky Shaker Stitch Sweater made me think of my daughter when I put it on! For some reason, she always says “chonky” when she exaggerates the word “chunky,” which always makes me laugh😂! It is a cozy, “chonky” sweater, and it would be great if your Thanksgiving Day is a cold one! I opted for the green instead of the gorgeous Rich Burgundy because I wanted it to look festive for the holiday season, too! It’s a good price right now! Take 40% off the highest regular-price item with the promo code WONDER.  Everything beyond that first 40% off item is 30% off. (Today is the last day for this deal!)

Jacquard Chains Boatneck Pullover | Slim Ankle Jeans (See other colors HERE.) | Suede Lug Sole Tassel Loafers (See other colors HERE.) | Mixed Links Hoop Earrings

I feel like every brand did a chain link sweater this season! (Trend alert!) Maybe so, but this one is my favorite! I’m head-to-toe in Talbots in this look again, which means it’s all on sale right now! 😃 Take 40% off the highest regular-price item with the promo code WONDER.  Everything beyond that first 40% off item is 30% off. (Today is the last day for this deal!)

Like the Hermes-inspired chain link look, but not this sweater? Check out some other chain link prints at these spots:

  1. I really love planning my outfits for the Holidays & all the fun days/events! So I love & appreciate this post! You shared some great pieces. I think I have my outfit planned. Gotta be cute, but comfy too! I so agree about enjoying FALL! I *also* went to the stores, hoping to find some Halloween decorations for my daughter. I was going to surprise her & decorate her apartment while she was at work. (she’s struggling to get into the spirit) BUT-all the Halloween was gone!! Like you, Christmas was in full swing. Fall is my FAVORITE! I also want to hang onto it & truly enjoy it while we can. It goes so fast anyway. So, gonna make that pumpkin roll your assistant shared 😋 & light the candles & decorate my daughters apartment (and share some of the pumpkin roll w/ her). HAPPY FALL!!

    1. Amy,

You are such a fun mom! Your daughter is blessed to have you! FALL is too short! We’ll be putting out the ENB Holiday Gift Guides next week, but believe me, we’re ALL about gratitude in November!

Thank you so much for following ENB and for sharing!

Beth will be so excited that you’re going to make her pumpkin roll!

      xoxo
      Suzy
