Spring has sprung (well, almost!), and today, we’re sharing our comprehensive guide to the 2025 Spring & Summer Style trends with you! This post is a labor of love for me and for my assistant Beth (not to mention my photographers, Bob and Robin!) because it takes a lot of time and research to put together! But you tell me it’s one of your favorites every year, so it’s important to us to bring our very best for you!

Just like every year, accessories and shoes are also an important part of spring and summer fashion trends. In 2025, silver jewelry is making a comeback, bows are everywhere, and giant rosettes are everywhere! (Along with tote-style handbags in all sizes!) When it comes to shoes, ballet flats or Mary Janes are a must-have, and we’re seeing lots of shoes with chic cap toes! Denim shoes are trending, along with kitten heels! 2025 Spring & Summer Color Trends

When you’re trying to update your wardrobe, one of the easiest and least expensive ways to do that is to work in the hot hues of the season! In fact, it’s so important that we started out our 2025 Spring & Summer Style Guide with an entire post on the trending colors for spring & summer 2025. Styles That Are Still Current

Some classic styles are back this spring & summer, and somehow, they manage to look totally fresh and fun! (In fact, we see some of them every single spring season!) Pull these out of your closet and wear them everywhere!

• Polo Style Shirts – From the Johnny Collar shirts and Johnny Collar short sleeve sweaters to anything with a polo-style collar, you can’t go wrong with this preppy style!
• Gingham – I collect gingham shirts! This one is my latest purchase.
• Polka Dots – This swimsuit and matching skirt are in my cart!
• Stripes – Either chevron, vertical or horizontal. I just bought this mulitcolored button down to layer under sweaters for spring.
• Nautical Looks – Look for the nautical look combined with other trends, like this ladylike jacket.

2025 Spring & Summer Style Trends

Every year, the challenge for me lies in narrowing down the trends to focus on! I try to select trends that are practical and wearable for you! Here are my favorite 2025 Spring & Summer Style Trends.

1. 2-Piece Sets

We’re talking about tracksuits, athleisure, and even some dressier two-piece sets, my friends. Often, the pieces are sold separately, which allows you to mix and match with your existing wardrobe. That makes these sets a good value!

I bought the pants, striped tee and jacket! The skirt runs a little big in the waist, so I passed on it.

I love the two-piece athleisure set trend! (often sold separately as pants & and a top like this half-zip top) Travel/athleisure sets might have been the first two-piece sets on the scene, but they’re are not the only game in town. Check out THIS knit set from Amazon that would be easy to dress up. (In fact, you can find all types of two-pieces sets on Amazon!) Love the chic look of cool linen in the summer? (Yes, it’s supposed to be wrinkly!) Check out this elegant set. It even comes in trending Deja Vu Blue (and several other colors)! I love this vest and pants combo from Austrailian brand Petal & Pup at Nordstrom.

2. Shirtdresses

Shirtdresses have been around for, well, decades! But this year, they’re having a moment! In fact, if there’s one item I suggest adding to your wardrobe this year, it would be a shirtdress! You can always find them in denim, of course, but this year, look for them in a variety of fabrics (gorgeous eyelet!), lengths, styles, prints, and colors. You’ll find popover styles, loose-fitting (you can always belt these), denim, and more.

Until recently, I always thought of shirtdresses as (1) denim, and (2) mostly for the fall season. If you’re like that too, it’s time for a change! This year, you’ll also see more variations on the classic shirtdress than ever before! Look for buttons that only go part-way down, and pretty prints on poplin, jersey knit, or even linen. Check out this shirtdress in a cute, summery print, a flattering vertical chambray stripe, an office-ready black cotton poplin, one in this year’s Pantone colors, or this one in a pretty bow print.

3. Sheer, Crochet, Eyelet or Lace

Sheer styles have been in for a while now, and I’ll be honest, there wasn’t much buy-in from the mainstream. (What, no one wants to show their bra underneath their shirt? 😲🤭) This season, look for a few sheer shirts (I recommend a camisole underneath.), but mostly look for sheer, crochet or lace fabrics with lining or located on places that make a lot more sense, like sleeves or jackets! Also, look for crochet or lace insets in tops or dresses, for a sweet feminine touch.

I just ordered this pretty lace sleeved blouse in Limpet Shell, one of this year’s hottest colors. This pretty lace short sleeve blouse has a built-in cami and elbow length sleeves and comes in several colors.

Also, when it comes to spring sweaters (like the yellow one I’m wearing above) look for a variation on the crochet theme called “open stitch.” One thing I really like about this trend is that it allows for arm coverage, while still keeping you cool in the warmer months. 4. Denim

This season, you’ll see lots of denim! Like, it’s having a moment! The newest look is a lighter denim (chambray), which we haven’t seen as much of in recent years! It’s pretty, summery, and versatile.

When it comes to jeans, look for lots of wide legs and even “superwide” leg jeans. (Thankfully, most are still high-rise!) You’ll also see lots of cropped and cuffed denim. Finally, look for pull-on denim and denim with front pockets, either camp pockets or patch pockets. When it comes to tops, look for all tops (not just denim) to be cropped or shorter in length.

Denim suiting is having a moment! In fact, Talbots did an entire denim suiting collection this spring, full of separates that can be mixed and matched for a put-together look. Denim blazers are easy to find, at all price points, both single-breasted and double-breasted.

Also, look for denim midi skirts and maxi skirts, many with frayed hems for a slightly boho look. You’ll see some straight skirts and some fit & flare skirts. (All in versatile denim!)

One style I’m not recommending: barrel jeans. Maybe it’s just me, but I think they look so weird. I just can’t with them. If you like them, go for it! 😉 Another style I’m not a fan of: bubble skirts! Why would you want to add more fabric (and thus, width!) to your hips, thighs, and legs? 😏😂 I can’t figure it out!

5. Ladylike

We saw this trend emerge last year, and this year it’s an even bigger deal! Feminine fashion is trending, with Chanel-esque ladylike cardigans and ladylike jackets leading the way. It’s giving ladies-who-lunch (at the Country Club) vibes!

6. Bows

Bows are having a major moment this spring and summer, adding a fresh, feminine touch to everything from fashion to accessories! Whether tied at the shoulders of a dress, adorning the back of a sleek ponytail, or accenting a chic pair of ballet flats or Mary Janes, bows bring a playful yet polished vibe to warm-weather style.
