Fresh Fall Decor
We had a little dip in the temperature here in Dallas this week! We call this “fake fall” as the temps will be back in the 90’s by the end of the week! 😄 But i will say the brief dip in temperatures did get me all excited about the upcoming season.
When Bob and I were decluttering, we went through all of our decor (for all the holidays!). I’ll be honest, some of the fall decor looked a bit, er…tired. So I tossed a few things. I made a decision to wait to replace it until we’re settled in to our new home.
Wouldn’t you know, just as I decided that, Beth and I started working on this post! Guess what? We found so much wonderful fall decor, that I did end up purchasing a few things! (Of course!)
We’re so excited to share our favorite fall finds with you!
Doormats
A doormat is a guest’s first impression of your home! I want mine to be bright, cheery, and welcoming! How about you? I have my eye on this cute doormat for the fall season. 🍂
Wreaths/Door Hangers
Whether it’s hanging on your front door, your back porch, or inside, a fall wreath or door hanger makes a great fall decor statement! I especially love THIS maple leaf wreath that’s pre-lit with LED lights. This hanging basket is ideal because you can fill it with a variety of faux florals. Be sure to check out Afloral, my go-to for all things faux flowers. When the seasons or holidays change, simply switch out the arrangement!
Pumpkins
Pumpkins are a must-have for any fall decor, and the new trend is to mix and match textures! Look for beaded, mercury glass, velvet, woven, terracotta, and even chunky knit! (Yep! Like a cozy sweater! )
Decorations
I always look for sturdy decorations that will stand the test of time. I especially like things like gourds that I can work into the fall decor I already own.
Gifts
Whether you’re gifting a hostess, looking for party favors, or giving thoughtful gifts to your Bible Study gals, there are so many cute gifting options for fall! There are mugs, candles, and cute napkins, of course, but I also really like THIS set of 10 Mini Pumpkin Soaps, THIS DIY S’mores Kit, and THESE adorable pumpkin acrylic stir sticks. If you need a larger gift, any hostess would love THIS glass serving platter or THIS personalized wooden pumpkin tray.
Candles
At my house, fall means it’s officially candle season! I love lighting candles to make my home feel warm and inviting. My favorite part of this post was searching for all the best-smelling candles. I discovered a variety of new brands that I’m excited to try out!
Plan Ahead
As Beth and I were looking at Fall decor, we came across a delightful array of Thanksgiving decorations. It’s the perfect time to prepare for your upcoming Thanksgiving celebrations. Consider making this charming woven turkey your centerpiece, and adorn your table with festive table runners and turkey-themed placemats. Welcome your guests with a delightful door hanger to set the tone for the occasion.
As temperatures begin to fall and autumn sets in, it’s the perfect time to cozy up your home! These fall decor ideas for empty nesters will help you create a warm, welcoming space you’ll love throughout the holiday season.
By the way, we also have an entire Amazon page dedicated to our fall favorites available on Amazon! From doormats and fall florals to festive autumnal placemats and decor, shop our Fall Favorites HERE.
I hope you find these ideas especially great for those of us in the empty nest! We want warm, inviting touches without going over the top. Right? Click through on anything you see below for more information. (So many of these items are on sale!)
Are you feeling ready for the change of seasons? What are you most looking forward to as the temperatures drop? Leave me a comment and let me know, okay?
Happy Fall, y’all! 🍁🍂

Cute things!
Have you done a post about managing your relationship with your daughter-in-laws parents/family?
My son will get engaged soon. We adore his girl and her parents seem like lovely people although we haven’t spent a whole lot of time with them. He’s our only child so all our eggs are in one basket and I want very much to have a wonderful relationship with them. Thank you!
Hi Susan,
I haven’t done a post on that specifically, but my best advice would be to work hard on your relationship with your new DIL and with her and your son as a couple. You might find this post helpful: https://emptynestblessed.com/2025/06/25/new-to-the-nest/
Wishing you joy in this exciting new season!
