How to Shop the Lilly Pulitzer Sunshine Sale (Mon. 1/5-Wed. 1/7)

I love Lilly Pulitzer’s classic styles, but they tend to be expensive, and they rarely go on sale. But when they do, they go BIG! Twice a year, Lilly Pulitzer holds a giant Sunshine Sale, and if you like Lilly, it’s well worth your time! (OR if you’re going somewhere sunny & warm in the next few months and you want to freshen up your resortwear wardrobe!)

This year, the Lilly Pulitzer Sunshine Sale starts on Monday, January 5, at 7 a.m. CST (8 a.m. EST) and goes through Wednesday, January 7, at 10:59 p.m. CST (11:59 p.m. EST). I shop this sale every time it comes along, so I know all the tips and tricks you need to shop efficiently, find what you need, and not overspend! Today, I’m going to give you all the scoop you need on the sale and even share my insider tips and tricks so you can maximize your shopping success! (Look for those in yellow highlight below!)

HERE’S YOUR FIRST BIG INSIDER SECRET…Items tend to start “disappearing” from the Lilly website in the week or so before the Sunshine Sale. So if you see styles in this post that are marked as sold out, don’t be surprised if they are suddenly “restocked” on Monday, 1/5, for the sale. Those Lilly peeps can be tricky like that!

What You Need to Know About the Sunshine Sale

1. You can shop online, in stores, or on the Lilly Pulitzer app!
2. Club Lilly members earn points for every purchase, early access to some special events, bonus point days, and more! It’s FREE to join! Click HERE.
3. Consider following Lilly Pulitzer on Instagram or Facebook for updates during the sale period.
4. Although you can shop on your phone or tablet at LillyPulitzer.com, the best experience is on a laptop or desktop so you can see each item in the best possible detail. (Important since all sales are final.)
5. Once you get to the Lilly Pulitzer site, you’ll be placed in a virtual waiting line. Don’t panic and think you need to refresh your page. Keep it open and give it time. Refreshing will knock you out of the queue! It usually moves pretty fast!
6. Once you enter the sale, use the filters to guide your search! First, filter by your size. You can also filter for specific prints.
7. Even if an item is in your cart during the sale, it isn’t reserved for you! That means you need to be ready to check out quickly once you’ve finished shopping. (See the pre-sale to-do list below!)
8. All sales during the Sunshine Sale are final.
9. Due to high demand during the sale, receiving your items can take up to four weeks. (Although mine usually come in about a week.)

To Do Before the Sunshine Sale

1. If you’re unfamiliar with the Lilly Pulitzer website, it’s a good idea to get familiar with it before the sale.
2. Go to LillyPultizer.com and create an account if you haven’t already. You can do it HERE. Enter your credit card info now, before the sale, to save time during the sale and increase your chances of getting everything in your cart. (Remember, just because it’s in your cart, it isn’t reserved for you. It’s not yours until you actually check out.)
3. Accessing the sale with your email address may not log you in to your account, so when you get on the site on the day you’re shopping the sale, be sure to check. If you’re not logged in, do it immediately and check the box that says “Keep me logged in.”
4. Before the sale, check out the sizing advice and reviews for each item you’re considering buying. Remember, all sales are final, so be sure!
5. Once you’ve created an account, look for the My Account area on your account page. Then look for the section labeled “Wish List.” It should say, “You haven’t added to your wishlist yet. Start Shopping. As you shop, click the ♥ on any style to add it to your Wish List. (You’ll find the ♥ at the top right of the image.) That way, when you shop, it’s easy to see your favorite styles all in one spot.
6. INSIDER SECRET…Once the sale begins and you gain access, add everything you like to your cart. Then, once you’re done shopping, go back and edit your cart before checking out. That way, you don’t get caught up in the excitement and overspend! I’ve found it’s always good to take a breath and take a second look before you purchase. But if you find something you just can’t live without, it might be worth checking out and then going back in to resume shopping. You don’t want it to sell out while you’re checking out other items!

Four Classics to Shop During the Sunshine Sale

While we can’t predict exactly what will be on sale, when it comes to Lilly, there are four classics that I think you should consider shopping for if they’re included in the sale.

1. The Printed UPF 50+ Skipper Popover – I have several of these, and I take them every time we go to the movies or I head to Florida. They’re perfect when the weather gets a little chilly, or some restaurant gets a little feisty and overachieving on the A/C front! I always get compliments on them.
2. The Elsa Silk Top – A true Lilly classic, this silk blouse can be dressed up or down, and Lilly brings the style back in new patterns every year. I own multiple prints and wear them tucked and untucked with jeans, shorts, and skirts.
3. Sweaters & Cardis – I love my Lilly Pulitzer cardigans and sweaters. They’re beautifully made and have lasted for years. If any sweaters are on sale, snag them quickly. You’ll be able to wear them this winter and spring. Also, be sure to check out their wraps! They’re perfect for special occasions! I used one at my son’s wedding when it got cool at night.
4. Accessories & Gifts – Finally, before you check out, be sure to check out the sale offerings in this category for some of the cutest jewelry, shoes, and handbags you’ve ever seen. Items like THIS darling Bermuda Bag with interchangeable covers make perfect gifts.
5. INSIDER SECRET…Actually, speaking of gifts, I think one of the best-kept secrets of the sale is the Gifts Under $50 you can find (like, wayyyy under $50!). Think ahead for birthday gifts or gift yourself! How pretty is this glass candle? I’ve got my eye on THIS headband for my daughter-in-law. I think it looks WAY more expensive than it is!
