Of course, not every day has to be a dress up day! I’m so glad you’re going to try it, though! Pay attention to how you feel on the days you make that effort vs. the days you just go with things simple.

A few weeks ago, Bob was out of town, and I decided to have one of those days where I wouldn’t get on Instagram Stories and talk, and I didn’t have anything on my calendar. So I just got up, worked out, took a shower, and put all kinds of lotions and potions on. I didn’t even do anything to my hair (which makes it look kind of like Peter Frampton’s hair 🤣)! OF COURSE, my doorbell rang all day! It was crazy! Wouldn’t you know!

Thank you so much for your kind words! To me, dressing for each day is kind of like making your bed! You may be the only one who sees it, but it still matters! And you’re right, you never know who you might meet!

Thanks so much for your comment! Here are my thoughts: First of all, I would encourage you NOT to dress for others! You may not dress up like you did when you were working, but I promise you’ll feel better about yourself if you make sure your outfit is at least clean, coordinated, and something that you feel cute wearing.

After all, I’ll bet your husband is the most important person in your life! Send the message that he’s worth it by looking put together for him, if not yourself.

You didn’t say what you’re doing in retirement, but I trust it involves loving and serving others! You need to be ready to go and do, even if it’s just to the grocery store. Whether we like it or not, our appearance sends a message to others. I believe it sends a message to us as well.

Congratulations on your retirement! Make plans and enjoy your time. Thank you for teaching kids for so many years. It’s such a critical job, and I know you did it beautifully! We’re all grateful!
