The temperatures may still be in the triple digits where you live, but make no mistake: the fall fashion trends are here and we’re ready for them! It’s going to be a fun fall for fashion, and today I’m sharing the major color, fabric, and embellishment trends you need to watch for as you shop! (More next week on everything else fall fashion 2022!)

Fall Fashion Trends: Trending Colors

Fall Fashion Trends: Trending Fabric

The biggest trending fabric this year is undoubtedly faux leather. Your Spanx faux leather leggings are still great, of course (and you should wear them!), but let’s be honest, they don’t really look like leather. For fall 2022, look for faux leather that has more of a true leather look and texture. Look for faux leather skirts, faux leather jeans, pants, crops, shirts, dresses, and more.
Suzy’s Pro Tip: Your faux leather moto jacket is still very on-point, but this year, you need to add even more faux leather into your wardrobe. Consider a faux leather shacket.

Fall Fashion Trends: Trending Embellishment

We’ve had years where we wore tassel everything, lace everything, and fringe everything! 😂 When it comes to fall fashion trends for 2022, you’ll see the pearl trend continue, but for fall 2022, you’ll be seeing feathers on everything.

What’s Up, Weekend

I took a quick trip to Austin in the first part of this week to celebrate my oldest son’s 30th birthday! Through a unique set of circumstances, Bob was out of town, Connor’s serious girlfriend couldn’t be there, and it looked like he’d have to spend his 30th birthday alone! This mama was having none of that! I had the best time having him all to myself!

On Tuesday morning Connor took me to his office to show me around and meet everyone, and I had the best time! They actually gave me a spare office and I got some work done that morning. My son is an attorney, and all of the other attorneys in his office said they loved having a mom around — they agreed that if #takeyourmomtowork day became a thing everyone in any office around the world would behave with much more civility! 😂😂😂

For me, it was a precious time to get on his turf — something I think is so important to us as empty nesters — and let him lead. It was a privilege to see him in his element and I was am so proud of him! (Not to mention, I love to see where my children work and play so that I can picture them when I pray for them!)

What I’m Streaming

This week I watched Netflix’s new adaptation of Jane Austen’s Persuasion, and it was so cute! I highly recommend it!
