Game Day Looks to Make You Stand Up and Cheer!

Every Saturday morning in the fall, our family group text starts this way: “Get up: it’s game day!” If you’ve been hanging around here for a while now, you know we’re huge college football fans in our family. My son even writes regularly for Solid Verbal, a college football podcast, and website. College football season is right around the corner, and we’ve been counting down the days for months!

I don’t know about you, but when I go to a game, I totally check out everyone’s game day looks! I think it’s so fun to see how creative people are! Today, I’m sharing my favorite sources for game day outfits, stadium-approved handbags, and even jewelry! If you see something you like, click through, because it probably comes in your school colors too!

As always, click any of the pink text links or images for more information.

Game Day Looks: Clothing

When it comes to clothing on game day, there are really three types of looks! Right?

  1. CUTE & CASUAL – Think functional and practical outfits are for the sports fan who wants to look stylish and feel comfortable at the big game. I live in Texas so the weather during the season can be all over the place! Look for outfits that would be great for going up and down stadium stairs (the “fashion runway” at a game!), sweating in the stands, or carrying an armful of concession stand food back to your seats!
  2. BRANDED APPAREL – Branded apparel, while not quite as creative as something cute & casual, is always a safe bet for game day!
  3. THE SUITE LIFE – If you’re a fan who gets a *suite* view of the big game, my advice is to nix the logo attire, unless it’s very subtle! For a classier look, go for a cute & casual dress, up your shoe game, and carry a nice handbag. (See below for more!)

MARLEY LILLY – If you’re looking for a monogrammed bag, check out THIS crossbody bag and THIS wristlet at Marley Lilly. They both come in neutral gold, and would be so cute monogrammed in your school colors either with your initials, or the initials of your school! (Monogramming is FREE.)

The great thing about game day jewelry is that, even if you’re usually pretty conservative on the jewelry front, you can go a little crazy, and step outside the box a little (or a lot!). My very favorite places to shop for Game Day jewelry are and

  1. Great post, Suzy! I previously purchased those game day sweaters for my Bear and Razorback daughters and they loved them. Also, I did not know Peter Millar made university clothing. I just love their quality. Now if everyone would make items for us Austin College Kangaroos…… Bring on Game Day!

    1. Cherie,

Ohhhh, you might be out of luck on the Kangaroos! 😂 So sorry! I’m thrilled that you liked the Peter Millar -Bob loves the quality and it’s enough “off the beaten track” for men fashion-wise that you won’t see a million of the same shirts come game day!

I’m so glad you liked the post!
