Spring “sprang” 💐in Dallas this week for a brief three days! 😂 What’s a girl to do? Head out for a spring wardrobe update, of course! If you’re in need of an update, or you just need some style inspo, you’ve come to the right place today!
Last weekend, I went to one of my favorite stores, worked with my favorite stylist, and we put together a bunch of spring looks to inspire you! When I say a bunch, I mean it. I think this post has more photos in it than any other post I’ve written! (Sadly, they’re just iPhone snaps!) As you’re going through the post, remember that you can click any image or pink text link for more information on anything you see.
I’ve shopped at WHBM for years. You may or may not know that the brand is owned by Chico’s (which also owns Soma). I love that this brand is completely woman-focused. I think the price points are good for the quality, and they always pay attention to detail. You’ll see pleats, smocking, or interesting fabric choices like dotted swiss, for example. You’ll also find good value, as several of their styles are reversible or can be worn in a variety of styles. Lots of the things I’ve linked in this post are 30% off through Sunday, 3/15, all are new (meaning there should be plenty of availability), and (almost) all are available in petite, regular, and tall from sizes 00 to 18. 🙌 (BTW, this isn’t a sponsored post, I’m just telling you why I like this brand! 😍)
Everything fits TTS unless I noted it. For sizing reference, I’m 5’5″ and I’m basically built like an adolescent boy! 🤣 I typically wear an XXS in WHBM tops (read that: flat chested + padded bra 😏😂) and a 2 in their pants and shorts. As far as shoes go, I wear an 8 in their flats but usually size up to an 8½ in their pumps.
Spring Wardrobe Update: Monochromatic Pinkness
If you’re going to go all monochromatic in the springtime, don’t you think you should just go all-in on pink? 💟 Well, of course! Every month or so, WHBM adds a colorful hue to their classic black and white. This spring, they’ve added a beautiful cottage rose pink (browse all the pink goodness HERE) and a sage green that I adore (browse the sage green HERE). You may remember that in my What Are Your Most Flattering Colors | Here’s How to Figure It Out post, I told you that, although I love pink, it’s not the most flattering color on me. Sage green is better with my natural skin tone, but that doesn’t stop me from wearing pink! (I think it’s good to know what your most flattering colors are, but you should wear what you like and feel good wearing!)😍
Spring Wardrobe Update: Date Night Look
This combo is perfect for date night! It’s the perfect mix of sweet femininity, with a little va-va-va-voom on top! Y’all know I’m super modest (also, I don’t even have cleavage🤣!) so you can rest assured that the little peekaboo window on the front of this top is not scandalous in any way😲! It’s difficult to see in the photo, but the fabric is a beautiful dotted swiss. I love the tie-neck top, which is so on-point right now!
Spring Wardrobe Update: Chic Neutral
I loved this reversible shell! I linked both sides just above so you could see the pretty black on black burnout on the reverse side of this floral. The white shorts were a no-go for me because you could see the pockets through the front of the shorts, and I don’t like that 👎🏻. I thought the neutral bow belt was cute! It’s hard to tell from this photo, but the belt itself is chain-link.
Convertible Rattan Handbag (Can be worn single top-handle as I did or crossbody with gold chain.)
This adorable rattan box handbag can be worn as a crossbody or carried by the top handle, and it’s neutral enough to go with everything in your closet! It would look darling with a scarf tied around the handle for embellishment, and it’s 40% off right now, making it just $35.99! It went home with me! 👜
Spring Wardrobe Update: #BossBabe
This sage green shirtdress is such beautiful quality, and it’s a versatile piece because it can be worn as a jacket too! (See below.) I’m wearing the sage laser-cut booties and the mixed stone toggle bracelet, which I love! At my neck is one of WHBM’s Swarovski crystal pendant necklaces, which looks so real! On the left, I switched up the shoes to these comfy metallic-trim linen wedges, the belt to this sage utility wide stretch belt, and the bracelet to this multicolored baguette stretch bracelet.
SUZY’S STYLE TIP: On the left, the dress is styled with the belt it comes with, which my stylist tied as an off-center half-bow (This is a very on-point trend right now!).
Spring Wardrobe Update: Versatility Central, Right Here!
Jetsetter Tee (in Edging Stripe Wintergreen) | 5-inch Smooth Stretch Shorts | Shirtdress with Removable Belt (worn as a jacket) | Laser-Cut Booties | Utility 1 ¾” Wide Stretch Belt (buckles in back!) | Mixed-Stone Toggle Bracelet with Malay Jade & Lolite | Pendant Necklace with Swarovski® Crystal
WHBM brings back their jetsetter tee every year! The loose-fitting v-neck is a wardrobe staple. I own it in several colors, and I especially love it on a 100+ degree August day in Dallas! 😰 We pulled back out the white 5″ stretch shorts, and styled the shirtdress as a jacket for max versatility.
SUZY’S STYLE TIP: If you wear a shirtdress as a jacket, be sure to tie it at the back to define your waist.
Spring Wardrobe Update: Sporty Spice
I thought the colorblock design of these shorts was so chic, but I didn’t get them because I didn’t like the way the outline of the front pockets was visible! (If I’d bought them, I would’ve taken them to the tailor to have the front pockets removed.) My stylist cleverly chose this single-pleat shell to pair with them because the white pleating on the front paired so beautifully with the white trim on the shorts. I didn’t expect to, but I fell hard for this denim band jacket! The flattering fit and grosgrain banding detail at the wrist just won me over!
SUZY’S STYLE TIP #1: If you’re going to wear your jacket sleeves cuffed, cuff them the way you want them before you put the jacket on.
SUZY’S STYLE TIP #2: If the collar allows, pop it up to bring attention to your pretty smile! 😁
Spring Wardrobe Update: Sweet & Sassy
In my 2020 Spring & Summer Style Guide, I told you that a lacetee is the one must-have item every woman should buy this year. Well, if you haven’t snagged one yet, I highly recommend this beauty! The stand-up collar and scalloped hem are so pretty! It has a hidden side zip closure and is fully lined. We tucked it in here, but below you’ll see it styled with the scalloped hem out. My normal XXS size was tight around the rib cage, so I sized up to an XS. You’d better believe this pretty top lives as my house now!
Spring Wardrobe Update: Spring Sensation
Spring Wardrobe Update: Off-the-Shoulder & On-Point
Off-the-Shoulder Poplin Blouse (also comes in black) | High-Rise Utility Cargo Shorts (with pleated paper bag waist) | Laser-Cut Booties | Pendant Necklace with Swarovski® Crystal | Convertible Rattan Handbag
Ohhh, my word, can we please talk about this off-the-shoulder poplin blouse? The ¾-sleeve angled cuffs make for a stunning statement sleeve! In the photo on the right, we used the removable belt from the high-rise cargo shorts to belt the blouse!
Spring Wardrobe Update: Pink & White is Always Right!
Off-the-Shoulder Poplin Blouse (also comes in black) | 5″ Smooth Stretch Shorts | Sculpt High-Rise Skinny Ankle Jeans | Silk Floral-Print Oblong Scarf | Ella Patent Leather Pumps | Pendant Necklace with Swarovski® Crystal |
I love the fit of these pink high-rise skinny ankle jeans! I threaded this gorgeous oblong scarf through the loops and wore it as a belt. You’ll find scarves in so many shapes and sizes out there right now! They’re a great way to add an element of interest to your outfit. I bought this oblong one, and when I got home, I decided to order this coordinating floral square scarf too! I’ll use it on my handbag, as a headband, or as a neckerchief.
Spring Wardrobe Update: Styling Pink Jeans
White Jetsetter Tee | Pink Sculpt High-Rise Skinny Ankle Jeans | PInk Ribbed-Detail Cover-Up | Denim Band Jacket | Silk Floral-Print Oblong Scarf | Leopard Calf Hair Skinny Stretch Belt | Ella Patent Leather Pumps | Pendant Necklace with Swarovski® Crystal
Since I knew I wanted these pink high-rise jeans the minute I put them on, we played around with a few ways to style them! First, we switched over to the casual white jetsetter tee, and then we played around with different tucks, belts, and toppers.
Spring Wardrobe Update: The Grand Finale
This shift dress is exceptional! I wish I had an upcoming occasion to wear it! I would have styled it with classic black pumps for a party, but I thought these leather-trim booties added just the right amount of toughness to it when we added the coated denim jacket.
SUZY’S STYLE TIP: If you love leather, but not the price, or if you want to wear denim but up the luxe factor, look at coated denim as an affordable alternative! I own a black pair of coated jeans from WHBM which are sold out, but WHBM’s sister company SOMA makes an identical pair that’s still available in every size and currently 50% off!
Whew! Did you like this post? Would you like to see more try-on posts like this one? Let me know in the comments, okay? Need another look at the styles I featured? I put together a boutique for you at the bottom of this post. Have fun, and remember, everything at WHBM is 30% off through Sunday, so shop now while the selection is good! (Things tend to sell out there really fast!) 💗
