I haven’t done an Instagram roundup in so long, and I thought we were due! If you’re new around here (And a lot of you are, so welcome!), and you don’t know what an Instagram roundup is, let me give you the scoop.
Do you follow me on Instagram? If you do, you know that I post twice a day, give lots of day-to-day updates about my life, and do my best to show you looks that will hopefully inspire you as you think about fashion, beauty, travel, health and fitness, and more. Thanks to my affiliation with rewardStyle, my Instagram posts are shoppable right on the Empty Nest Blessed page on the LiketoKnow.it app. (If everything you just read sounds like I’m speaking a foreign language, don’t worry! I wrote a detailed post explaining it a few months ago, and you can read that here.)
As you may know, Empty Nest Blessed is part of several affiliate advertising programs. This means that if you purchase through certain links on this site or any related social media platforms (like Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest), I may make a commission from that purchase. (Don’t worry, it doesn’t cost you anything extra.) When I started Empty Nest Blessed, it became clear to me that when I talked about something here—whether a pair of cute PJs, the book I’m currently reading, or my favorite lip gloss—I needed to be able to resource you all and let you know where you could get those things for yourselves. I also realized that to have the kind of website that I wanted—easy to navigate, with strong, comprehensive content, and beautiful images—it was going to cost a little bit. So, I joined some affiliate programs. Despite what you might think, Empty Nest Blessed is not a big money maker! If I can bless, inspire, and encourage you, and also break even and meet my expenses, I’m a happy camper! That’s why it means so much to me when you shop with my links! Every time you click through to a brand via one of my pink text links or one of the shoppable images (called widgets) underneath my photos, it means you’re supporting Empty Nest Blessed. Thank you so much for that! Your support enables me to do this job I love! 🙂
Today, I’m sharing some of my most popular looks from the past few weeks and giving you one last chance to shop them before we turn our hearts and minds to spring and summer style in a big way! (I’ll let you in on what I have planned for next week at the end of this post!) The good news for you? Pretty much every look I’m showing you today is on sale, and all of them fit TTS (true to size) unless I indicate otherwise! Let’s get started, okay?
This is the scallop Ponte dress I wore to church and parties throughout December! I adore the A-line skirt and ¾-sleeves, and it’s a 3-season dress for sure! It’s machine washable (yay!) and goes in the books as one of my favorite purchases of the year. It also comes in a flattering black. My classic nude scallop block heel sandals are by Sam Edelman, so you know they’re comfy. (He’s famous for making shoes that have a cushy insole and a flexible sole that move with your feet.) I love that this brand offers free shipping/returns. (A must when buying shoes online, amirite?)
Y’all know I love a good tunic! I love leggings too, especially in the winter! I’m always on the lookout for a tunic that’s long enough to cover my boo-tay :), and if it just so happens to have a monogram, well, all the better! My under $30 tunic is from Marley Lilly, an affordable and happy little brand that always monograms for free. It comes in three color choices.
My bronze faux leather leggings are part of Spanx’ faux leather line! They make you look, well, like Spanx should make you look, and yet they’re comfortable and easy to move in too.
This gorgeous clear handbag is from designer Kelly Wynne. She makes lots of beautiful bags and accessories, but she’s probably most well-known for her Mingle Mingle Mini bags. They’re stadium-approved clear bags trimmed in an oh-so-classy python print. Her bags are a splurge for sure but beautiful and well-made. There are python prints in lots of school colors! Click here to see them all.
My perforated suede booties are from Toms. (They’re one of my favorite brands for over-fifty feet because I’m a sucker for a soft, flexible insole!) This is last year’s style, so I found them for 37% off at Nordstrom Rack! If they don’t have your size, these are virtually the same, without the perforation.
New England Rain Jacket (15% off)
This New England Rain Jacket was a lifesaver on our cruise to Alaska last summer! It comes in six colors (most of them are bright and springy!) and with free monogramming. It’s lined with gray mesh for good air circulation, and the hood and hem have drawstrings so you can tighten them if needed.
Teddy Bear Fleece Pullover Tunic (42% off)
If this cozy pullover tunic wasn’t monogrammed, my daughter would steal it right off my back! She calls this fabric “teddy bear fleece,” and apparently anything made of it is a hot commodity on college campuses right now! This one also comes in a sweet pink, and monogramming is free.
This soft, convertible neckline tunic sweater was another one of my fave purchases this year! It’s only $32.40 and comes in loads of color choices! It was so popular, Nordstrom had to restock it multiple times! You can wear it off the shoulder or as a cowl neck. Unfortunately, it’s no longer available in this loden green, but it does come in a whopping nine other color options! It runs on the larger size, and it’s nice and long, so consider ordering a size down from your usual size.
These black NYDJ release-hem jeans were the jeans I wore on repeat this fall and winter! I love NYDJ jeans ((NYDJ stands for “Not Your Daughter’s Jeans” – LOL!) because they have what the brand calls “lift & tuck technology.” This basically means they’re high-waisted, and they hold your tummy in while at the same time lifting your rear. (Can I get an “Alleluia?”) They’re made of super stretchy fabric and move with your body. They’re guaranteed to take you down a size, so order one size down from your usual. I love the release-hem on these because they’re trendy, but they don’t look messy. #winwin
I fell hard for the ladylike lace sleeve detailing on this cashmere crewneck sweater! I think it looks so chic with black jeans or pants! I wore it to church last weekend with a black faux leather skirt and got so many compliments. It’s (somehow!) still available in most sizes.
This year goes down as the year I officially got into camo! (I’m a late adopter, I know!) This lightweight camo sweatshirt is perfect for this time of year. Monogramming is free. My jeans are from NYDJ. (Do I sound like a broken record? Hahaha!)
Being a Southern Belle of a certain age, I call everybody “darlin,” so this slub cotton tee (“slub”=relaxed fit) was a must-have for me! It’s only $17.99 this weekend!!! I get tons of compliments and questions whenever I wear these tassel hem jeans. The NYDJ high waist and perfect fit just make them fit perfectly! The flattering black ribbed duster I have on is something I truly consider a wardrobe staple for women our age! The long lines create a flattering silhouette, and this one is 43% off right now, so it’s a great time to buy.)
I feel like I’ve talked and talked about these ruffle-back booties, but I have to tell you again that they are unbelievably comfortable. (The leather is like “but-tah,!” Seriously.)
Front Pocket Turtleneck (52% off) | NYDJ Fray Hem Ankle Jeans (55% off) | UGG Wedge Booties (33% off) | DIY Tory Burch Earrings (Yep, I made them myself! Click here for instructions.) | Lip Gloss in Sun Diego (10% off entire order with code EMPTYNESTBLESSED)
I’ve loved wearing this coral front pocket turtleneck this winter! It’s been a great way to pull the 2019 Color of the Year into my existing wardrobe. It comes in two other colors, and I think the blue one is particularly gorgeous. #babyblueisthebomb
These UGG wedge booties were a blogger favorite this year, and they’re sold out almost everywhere! I did find them in a few (larger) sizes and a few other colors, so I’ve linked them.
I think blue and white together is such a crisp, clean look, don’t you? (In fact, as you can see, I did my entire family room in blue and white!) This navy ruffle-neck pullover got me with the cute gingham ruffles at the neck and cuffs. Gingham always feels like spring, so I thought this pullover was perfect for this time of year. It runs a little small, so you might order one size up if you order.
They may be tough to make out on my ears in the blue/white photo above, but the heart hoop earrings pictured here were such a fun find this year! I found them at Soul Stonz, and they’ve graciously offered my readers a 10% discount on anything on their site with the code Empty Nest Blessed at checkout! They come in small, medium, or large (I’m wearing small.), and they’re available in a variety of gemstones. Click here to see the full selection.
This was my Valentine’s look this year! The bow sweater is affordable, on-trend, and feminine without being too goopy-girly. It pairs beautifully with these black ankle pants and pumps, but it looks equally good with jeans and a pair of leopard mules too. I appreciate a versatile piece like that, don’t you? 🙂
I don’t know about you, but this week has been a looooong one for me! I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend, eating some yummy Mexican food, and catching up on some reading! I’m excited about next week on Empty Nest Blessed because I’ve got a whole week devoted to a spring and summer style preview! I’m going to show you the trends you’ll be seeing everywhere this year, in clothes, shoes, handbags, and jewelry. Get ready, because it’s going to be so much fun!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, no matter what you’re up to!
