One of the coolest things that happened to me in December wasn’t Christmas. It was when Revision Skincare reached out to me and offered me a Revision Skincare® Signature Glo Getter Experience. It would consist of a HydraFacial Treatment at Dallas Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics using Revision’s science-based, age-defying skincare products. The email came at a busy time of year when my schedule was already jam-packed, but I’d heard about one particular Revision Skincare product called Nectifirm, and I’d meant to try it. Okay, that, and also I was intrigued by Revision Skincare’s reputation for science-based skincare that really works and I wanted to learn more about their products. Okay, well, there was that, and also that a pampering HydraFacial sounded pretty good at that time of year!
You may remember that a few weeks ago, I wrote a post called Winter Skin Rescue | Help for Your Dry and Crepey Skin. Trying to keep the post at a reasonable length, I focused on tips and products for your body, not your face. I asked you all to let me know if you were interested in hearing more about skin care for the face, and you overwhelmingly responded with a resounding “yes!” To prepare for this post, I’ve been using Revision Skincare’s product line ever since I had my HydraFacial.
It’s kept my skin beautifully hydrated and glowing this winter, with no dryness. I really do see an improvement in firmness and evenness, so I’m excited to share the Revision line with you! Today, I’m going to tell you all about my experience with the Glo Getter Experience, including all the deets on the Hydrafacial and the Revision Skincare products I’ve been using ever since. (And loving!)

The HydraFacial exfoliates, smooths, and nourishes the skin. For my HydraFacial, Revision Skincare products were used to hydrate, condition, firm, and tone my skin, but treatments can be customized with other products to meet various skin needs. My aesthetician, Charlene, told me the HydraFacial was ideal for everything from uneven skin texture to acne. No matter what your skin needs are, a HydraFacial will firm and tone the skin, provide intense hydration and improving its overall health. There are three parts to it:
- Cleanse & Peel – gentle exfoliation that results in resurfacing
- Extract & Hydrate – painless extraction removes debris, followed up with intense moisturization
- Fuse & Protect – saturation with hyaluronic acid, peptides and antioxidants to boost skin’s glow
In the past, I’d had facials at spas, but I don’t think I’m ever going back to that! I loved my HydraFacial, and I appreciated the medical environment, sterilized equipment, and expert attention that I received. I asked Charlene how long I could expect the effects of the HydraFacial to last. She said that immediately afterward I would notice a beautiful glow, but because at age 50+ we don’t regenerate skin cells as quickly as we did when we were younger, in about a week to two weeks, things would start to revert. She recommends getting on a regular HydraFacial regimen to maintain and increase the benefits. My skin was luminous immediately afterward, and I saw a difference for at least the next week to week and a half. Be sure to check out the before and after photos on DCDA’s website!

Like me, you may have seen articles about Revision Skincare products (especially Nectifirm) all over the media, in publications like Elle, Mari Claire, Redbook, Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, and Town & Country, to name a few. Besides Nectifirm, I wasn’t familiar with any of their other products. So when they first reached out to me, I went to their website to check them out.
Revision Skincare is headquartered right here in Dallas (including their manufacturing lab)! They’ve been around for more than 30 years, providing dermatologists, plastic surgeons and estheticians with clinically-proven, highly advanced offerings for long-term skin health. They own the entire process from R&D to manufacturing in order to ensure that only top-quality, scientifically-based, and highly effective products come to market. Their products can be used as an alternative to procedures or in conjunction with procedures, and they don’t actively formulate with alcohol or other aggressors in their products.
All that is great and everything, but what really reeled me in were the before and after photos on their website. Whoa! Be sure to check them out for yourself.
Here are the products I’ve been sampling, along with my thoughts on each.
Gentle Cleansing Lotion – Primarily designed for sensitive skin, this hydrating cleanser deep cleans by gently lifting dirt and debris from the skin. It’s ideal for morning cleansing. I made the mistake of using it at night, and it wasn’t powerful enough to remove my makeup thoroughly. (The Papaya Enzyme Cleanser is a better choice for nighttime cleansing.)
Papaya Enzyme Cleanser – I found this cleanser extremely effective at removing makeup and grime! It’s formulated with vitamin-rich Papaya Extract, and my skin was clean but still moist after using it. #goodstuff
Soothing Facial Rinse – This alcohol-free toner is formulated with a blend of plant and Algae Extracts, as well as a blend of Arnica montana Extract, Grape Seed Extract, and Vitamin K. It’s designed to restore the skin’s optimum pH balance. I’ve never used a toner before because I guess I’ve just always ascribed more value to other products. This smells lovely and feels refreshing, but, honestly, it wasn’t my favorite because it didn’t seem like it had quite as many benefits as the other products in the line. #gottabehonest
Finishing Touch – Y’all know that I’m a huge proponent of exfoliation when it comes to beautiful skin, and this scrub is designed just for that. Meant to be used one-two times weekly, it deep cleans the skin, removing dirt and debris, and polishing the skin without being abrasive. It’s formulated with Polynesian Volcanic Black Sand (Silica), ultra-fine Pumice, and Freshwater Silt. My favorite thing about it was, unlike other exfoliant products I’ve used, it left my skin not just polished and deeply cleansed, but also moist.
Revox 7 – I really think you will like this oil-free serum that specifically targets expression lines around the eyes, forehead, and mouth! The numeral 7 is in its name because it utilizes seven different clinical-strength peptides to reduce the appearance of and relax and soften the look of expression lines. In a clinical study, after 12 weeks of use, it was shown to reduce the appearance of expression lines around the eyes significantly. You can use it on forehead lines, crow’s feet, glabella frown lines, bunny nose lines, nasolabial lines, lip lines, and marionette lines. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to see some amazing before and after photos! #thisisagoodone
Vitamin C Lotion 30% – With one of the highest concentrations of Vitamin C available on the market, this serum provides a full lineup of antioxidants your skin needs (including Vitamin E and Coenzyme Q10) to protect it from environmental toxins and sun damage. It helps create elasticity, brightens dullness, and moisturizes. This serum is serious business, y’all!
D·E·J Eye Cream – I pretty much think good eye cream is the holy grail of skincare! This one is designed to be used both day and night to help shield against environmental stressors, provide intense hydration, and help boost skin’s ability to retain moisture. It is meant to be used on both upper and lower lids! One thing I really appreciated about it is that Revision has scientifically backed up their efficacy claims with research. After twelve weeks of continual use, 96% of subjects experienced an improvement in the look of fine lines, firmness and overall photodamage and 90% of subjects experienced an improvement in upper eyelid appearance. Again, check out the before and after photos at the bottom of this page.
Nectifirm – Specifically targeting the neck and décolletage, beauty-award-winning Nectifirm firms lines and wrinkles by using eight different peptides, as well as something called Microbiome technology to reduce the appearance of adipose tissue and rough, crepey skin. The Microbiome is an ecosystem of microorganisms that performs and regulates a variety of imperative functions in the body. Everyone’s Microbiome is unique and plays a vital role in keeping the skin and body healthy. The role of the Microbiome in medicine and skincare is a hot topic in medical research today. I love this product, y’all, and it has really made a difference in the texture of the skin on my neck. It’s truly lived up to all the hype! No matter what shape your neck is in, this product can help! Look at the before and after photos at the bottom of this page. (I know I sound like a broken record, but before and after photos tell the story way better than I ever could!) BTW, My aesthetician, Charlene, said that many of her patients use it on other areas of their bodies like knees and elbows as well.
D·E·J Night Face Cream – This nighttime moisturizer is infused with 0.25% Retinol to firm and lift skin while you sleep, visibly reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. You all know that I’m a big believer in retinols for long-term skin health, and the Retinol in this product is combined with a broad-spectrum antioxidant (called Bakuchiol), to help minimize the dryness and irritation sometimes associated with its use. If you’ve been sensitive to other Retinol creams, I encourage you to try this one.
By the way, and in case you were wondering, D·E·J stands for “dermal-epidermal junction.” It references the area of skin where the dermis and the epidermis meet. As we age, this junction tends to flatten, causing the skin to slacken and increasing visible signs of aging. Both D·E·J Night Face Cream and D·E·J Eye Cream specifically target this junction.
Intellishade – This award-winning universally-tinted moisturizer is formulated with Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide for broad-spectrum UV protection (SPF 45). It comes in either Original formula or Matte formula. The Original formula feels more moisturizing, while the Matte formula has a lighter-weight matte finish and contains ingredients that have been shown to reduce the appearance of pore size and absorb excess oil. Charlene told me that some of her patients use the Original formula in the winter and the Matte formula in the summer.
