I blame the kids. You know, that childbirth thing. But apparently, I’m mistaken. Incontinence and light bladder leakage is a fact of life for many women our age, and it may or may not be caused by childbirth. Other factors can include genetics (Thanks, Mom!), simple aging (Yeahhhh.), or lifestyle (Caffeine, anyone?). It happens to me occasionally when I drink too much caffeine and I know from your emails that there are lots of you dealing with this issue as well. You’ve been asking me to write about it for a while now. I’ve resisted, because it’s, er, a delicate and kind of awkward subject. But when P&G asked me to share about Always Discreet Boutique underwear. I decided it was time to get real. (In a lovely, positive, and discreet way, of course!) I’ll be honest, it kinda takes courage, but I’ll do just about anything for you guys, and I’m really excited to introduce you to this product.
Did you know that incontinence is linked to depression, social withdrawal, and decreased activity? This makes me so sad! You know I’m all about the joys of aging and making midlife matter. In fact, I had the opportunity to weigh in on the Christie Brinkley/aging debate, last Friday morning in an interview on CW33’s Morning Dose.) I really believe that the older we get, the more we have to offer others. With a product like Always Discreet Boutique, there’s hope for women that struggle with this issue. I’m so glad.
I think you’ll be surprised that Always Discreet Boutique underwear is so pretty and feminine. I was! (Somehow that makes everything just a little bit better when we’re talking about this issue, amirite?) But don’t let that sweet exterior fool you. It’s also incredibly absorbent, which means it’s dependable when it counts. It fits close to your body and the design kind of hugs your curves, so it fits smoothly under your clothes.
Here’s how it works. It has a super absorbent core that turns liquid to gel, so it absorbs even your heaviest leaks. It also has two leak guards that help keep wetness away from the sides, so you don’t need to worry about leakage. Also, Always Discreet Boutique underwear has OdorLock™ which helps neutralize odors instantly.
If bladder leakage or incontinence is an issue for you, be sure to see your doctor in order to learn what’s causing it. Depending on what causes yours, you might need medication or just, um, behavior modification. (When mine suggested that I give up caffeine, I laughed hysterically, BTW.)
If you want to save some money on Always Discreet or other P&G products you already use (Kinda addicted to my Swiffer, I’ll be honest!), you can pop over to PGeveryday.com for money-saving coupons on lots of P&G products. You can print them at home, or load them right to your grocery loyalty card. You’ll want to register to take full advantage of everything on this awesome website. My favorite section? It’s the Empty Nest – Full Life section of course! (To navigate your way there, click on “Communities” in the navigation bar, and then “Empty Nest – Full Life.”) It features recipes, date night ideas, and travel tips — all geared toward empty nesters. 🙂
With two kids back in the nest this summer — coming and going at all hours — I need that caffeine more than ever. How ’bout you? (We’re gonna blame those kids one way or another, right?!)
Many thanks for P&G for sponsoring this post.
