First of all, I want to apologize! My posts the last two weeks have been too long. I do my best to keep each one to about 800 words, but I’ve gotten long-winded lately, and I am so sorry. One reader even told me it was “discouraging” to her when my posts are so long, and sometimes she doesn’t read them because of it. Yikes! That’s the last thing I want. As I’ve shared with you before, with the variety of content I cover, I assume that not every post appeals to every person, and that’s okay. When I’m covering something important like decluttering & downsizing or how to understand your 20-something kids, it’s tough to be thorough, yet concise! I pledge to do better, and at least try to intersperse the longer posts with the shorter ones. I don’t usually post on a Thursday, but I missed Monday this week because we were coming home from Alabama, where we went to our son’s law school graduation on Sunday. (It was soooo special, y’all. I hope you caught some of my snaps on Instagram or Facebook.)
So here’s the real story behind this post. I found this gorgeous dress, and I wanted to style it the way you see above. But on the day of my March photo shoot, these shoes had yet not arrived! Soooo, I punted (as Bob would say) and I styled it as you see at the end of this post — with fun flip flops and casual jewelry. Truth be told, this dress is so versatile, I’ve also worn it with my slip-on sneakers to do errands! The good news for you is that it’s been out since March, so it’s 40% off right now, and it also comes in slimming navy. (Click any of the images or pink links for more information.)
I think these are the must-have dress shoes of the season! They’re universally flattering, easy to walk in (thanks to the cushy insole), and the scallop detailing adds just the right amount of femininity. They’re such best-sellers, they come in six colors, including some suede options and a rose gold that I love. Scroll through the widget below to see all of them.
This embroidered straw clutch from Nordstrom is one of those purchases that I keep congratulating myself for making! (Have you ever done that???) 🙂 It comes with a removable chain strap, so it can also be worn as a shoulder bag or crossbody. Because of that, I’ve carried it with everything from jeans and shorts to church dresses, and it goes with so much in my existing wardrobe. I get asked about it wherever I go!
Happy Thursday, y’all! If you’re like me, your kids are trickling home for the summer! Are you ready? I wrote a blog post a few weeks ago all about how Bob and I are getting ready to have two of ours back in the nest this summer, and what we’re doing to prepare. If Graduate gifting is on your mind, you might want to check out my Graduation Gift Guide for tons of ideas for graduates from HS right up through grad school. I so hope it blesses you and makes your shopping fun.
Look at me, bringing this post home at just over 600 words! YAY!
