The classic picnic print has come into its own this year in a massive way! You definitely need to have the gingham trend on your radar. Originally from a Malayan word meaning “striped,” this happy pattern is easily recognizable, and incorporating it into your existing wardrobe is easier than you might think. It’s “classic” in the sense that it never really goes out of style, but this year it’s out there in an updated color palette that feels very fresh and, well, fun!
My gingham ankle pants are a perfect example of this trend in fashion. The outfit above is decidedly springy, but for summer I’ll add this Topshop white scallop frill tee (only $25!) from Nordstrom. For fall, I’ll pair my pants with the same Topshop scallop frill tee in black (also only $25!) and these super comfy Born Kharen Wraparound Flats (on sale right now!) and wear it on into fall.
My black and white gingham look seems pretty simple and almost sedate in light of all the colorful gingham that is out there right now! While you’ll still see lots of the classic black and white, the newest look in gingham is color, color, color! I’ve curated a boutique of some of my favorite gingham looks for you below. Just click on the images for more information.
Dontcha just love the fact that the gingham trend is wearable for any age and stage? Tell me what you think about it in the comment section below, okay? Let’s party in the picnic print this year!
What are you up to this weekend? We are cleaning out the attic (insert that emoji with the gritted teeth here!). Bob’s been out of town the whole week, so we are just excited to be together and catch up! Whatever you do, I hope you relax and enjoy it. I’m super pumped about a travel post I have for you next week, plus I’m sharing my Easter look with you! If you aren’t on my email list, you might want to sign up – I don’t want you to miss a thing! xoxo
